Arts Volunteering – previously known as Young Arts – has been renamed to encompass a wider range of community-based art-related activities in the local area.

‘The aim of Arts Volunteering projects is to provide access to the arts where communities would otherwise have little or no opportunity to engage with these due to financial deprivation or other circumstances.’

The Evesham and Pershore Society will support two art-based projects a year.

Possible activities could include a visiting artist, a workshop at a local artist’s studio, a visit to an exhibition, art materials, funding to support an exhibition, or free entry to one of our lectures.

Tapestry revealing Evesham's history officially unveiled ...

The Arts Society Evesham & Pershore is keen to help promote The Evesham Tapestry a remarkable local effort orchestrated by Rotary in the Vale under the aegis of Sandra Capaldi. Sixteen embroideresses and school, scout and art groups all contributed scenes from Evesham history. These have been sown onto three 15-foot banners which have already been exhibited at our town museum, churches and a care home. Currently you can see it at Evesham Riverside Centre. It is hoped to publish a booklet an idea we will support.

If members have any other arts related projects close to your hearts that you would like us to support via Arts Volunteering, please let us know by word of mouth or mail.
